Tell Us Your SplashID Story

As part of SplashID's 10-year anniversary and the launch of our sixth and latest version, SplashID Safe, we'd like to collect some short stories about what SplashID means to you. We'll share these stories with our whole team here at SplashData and choose some of them to share with our entire user community and in some of the media coverage we're working on for later in the year.

Some stories we've received

Back in the early 2000's, I was working at Palm, Inc. and found myself needing more and more username/password combinations for different websites. I was guilty of using the same six digit password over and over again just for convenience. Then some sites started wanting numbers and letters in the password. And others wanted a longer password. It became really frustrating trying to remember my different variations, and I looked for a solution on my handy Palm V. Found SplashID and it was such a nifty "problem solved" moment. I became a huge fan of SplashID, using it every day. Then a few years later, I did a software licensing deal with the SplashData team, and found I liked the people as well as the product. A few years after that, I had the opportunity to join the company. And the rest, as they say, is history!

What I love about SplashID is that I only ever have to remember one password anymore! And, since every website and computer account has different password rules it's good to be able to use something completely random for them. Of course the... best feature is the ability to sync across multiple platforms. My Macbook, my iPhone and even my wife's laptop PC.

I started using SplashID with my Palm, then when I got the iPhone I also got SplashID. It now stores over fifty passwords and other information securely for me. I sync the data to my Mac and also use the desktop version. I always tell others when they are looking for a way to keep their passwords secure.
